Not many white/beige TKL being produced?
« on: Thu, 01 May 2014, 21:43:35 »
What TKL MX boards out there still come in white/beige? (I am in the US)

I think Filco still makes them but they are hard to find/expensive.

Leopold FC700R (discontinued?) Maybe FC750R?
I know Leo has a weird space bar don't think it will take a cherry DS set? At least the space bar?

Looking for something without breaking the bank. Anything decent I am missing?

I think Ducky does something in pure white.

http://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/140-nzxt-ducky-shine-3-keyboard.html

It's not TKL but it's something to look at.

Oh yeah I saw that NZXT Ducky. Too bad they don't make more boards in that color. Full size is not what I'm looking for but good find.

A used FC200R with clears would be sweet but surely hard to find. (I sold mine to smallfry back in the day)

WASD Keyboards has white & beige keycaps (as well as a lot of other colors). I'm pretty sure the case is still black though.

If you're open to Matias switches, the Matias Mini Tactile Pro for Mac (http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=289) is close to TKL and is all white.

I love the beige and off-white boards like the beige Filco MJ2s and Ninjas. Wish more companies would make them that color.

Not really a fan of the bright true white.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Yes PLU, think its kind of shody but an option. I know Qtan used to sell them.

I had never seen vinyl dye before. Interesting stuff.

Noppoo - http://www.vendio.com/stores/E-sports-Gaming-equipments/item/shop-mechanical-keyboard-by-br/noppoo-mid-87-mechanical-keybo/lid=35017408

qtan also used to have white KeyCool.

NIB Leopold in Classifieds - http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=47218.0

How's the quality on the Noppoo? Is it comparable to Leopold/Filco? Does it have a thick PCB?

Would it be possible to fit default ISO caps (like Vortex or Ducky) on the FC660M? Looks like the left OS key is different, as well as the right shift..

KeyCool white is whiter than white.  It is definitely not beige at all!

Yeah not sure how that would look with a classic beige set.

There is also the HPE.  I've wanted one of these cause of the cool Chinese text.  Supposed to be pretty good Filco clones.

qtan used to have them, eventually I may ask him to get me one off Taobao:

Thanks man I remember these from qtan's store a few years ago. Seems like a lot of these cheaper boards that were sold in off white are not around anymore. I need to investigate if the nopoo qtan sells is any good. Only experience I have had with them was a choc mini.

Yes, it is bright white. Nothing similar to beige color.

I can second (third?) that observation.  The Keycool 108 I'm typing this one is a perfect match for the Vortex PBT keycaps from Feng's recent GB.

Although the keyboard in the picture is not a Keycool, AFAIK...
