Topre Realforce 87u
« on: Sat, 10 May 2014, 19:20:38 »
I just purchased the Topre Realforce 87u keyboard and noticed it was branded as a Leopold. Does anyone know why??

I believe Leopold handles distribution for them.

From what I've read, Topre, an acronym for Tokyo Press, manufactures Realforce keyboards.
Leopold, as Flyersfan1 suggests, may be the distributor for Realforce keyboards. RF KBs have
either Leopold or Topre imprinted on the keyboards' labels.

BTW, Flyersfan1, I'm trying a CMQFR/MX Brown keyboard. Will it overtake the MX Red? Only
time will tell. I'm keeping my MX Red nearby, just in case the MX Brown doesn't make the cut.
But thus far, it's getting the job done. I remember your telling me how you tired of Browns, so
I approached this with some trepidation because our keyboard likes/dislikes are so similar.

Oh man! Don't be fooled by the browns, they're just a dirty red!  :thumb: Seriously though, I hope you end up liking them, it never hurts having more than a couple of keyboards in your rotation!  I did use them as my primary switch for a long time. This was when I kind of dismissed reds pretty quickly for all of the typos they were causing me.  I think subtle tactile bump in browns helped me cut down on typing errors, but for whatever reason, i never was fully satisfied with them.

Suddenly the Browns are screwing up my typing, really. I don't know if the KB is not working properly or if I've suddenly become the worst typist on the planet! I can tell you the Browns done, toast! NO more Browns in my life. I'm about to re-plug the MX Red KB. I'm using the Topre; and my fingers feel like lead after using the Browns. Why? I've not a clue. You were/are right. Browns are horrible. I know what will help, chocolate!
