Hello!

Hey everyone! I've been reading GeekHack for a while now but haven't posted anything yet. I'm an IT professional based in California currently but soon relocating to North Carolina. I grew up and graduated college in the northeast and since discovering how awesome keyboards can be I've enjoyed working on them all day a lot more. Anyway, just wanted to say hello!

I have a white Poker 2 that I added white LEDs to at home, and I use a Ducky Zero Shine at work. Both with MX brown switches!

Cool! I was torn between the Poker II and the Leopold FC660M. Decided to go for the Leo since I use a lot of keybindings that include the arrow keys.

How do you find having no arrow keys? What are your key combos?

Well I use the DIP switch to make left Windows into an FN key and using that with WASD works awesome 99% of the time, I adjusted to it really quickly too. I use AutoHotkey to make my right Alt into a Windows key for when I need to lock my computer quick or whathaveyou. All in all, with a little customization and adjustment it's been awesome!

What do you run in your computer? OS, and common applications?

Linux, gnome, terminals, emacs, etc... they are very biased towards arrows. And having key bindings with arrows.
For example the default desktop switching shortcut for gnome-shell is ctrl+alt+down/up. But mostly it is terminals and text editing I am worried about needing two fingers instead of one now.

I use Windows for most of what I do, but I have some Linux VMs. Since I primarily use Windows I don't have very many problems - you really do adjust quickly to holding down Fn to use arrow keys but I could see how it'd get weird. I know a lot of people use HHKBs with *nix systems without issues and they're the same way.
