Noppoo Lolita - Question
« on: Mon, 09 June 2014, 20:04:23 »
http://www.yoybuy.com/en/show/38091990963/

I was wondering if anyone knows much about this keyboard. I currently own a Noppoo Choc Mini with Cherry MX brown switches, however I am interested in getting a blue switch board as well. I haven't been able to find much information on this keyboard anywhere, and was just curious if anyone here might know some about it. I've read from limited sources that the switches break easily or aren't as good of quality, however this was in the first generation model of he Lolita, to my understanding this LED version is the 2nd generation? I'm not overly sure, so if someone could provide some feedback or information about this keyboard that would be great. I have a lot of faith in Noppoo as it's been a very good board so far, however my other choice would be the CM Storm Quickfire Stealth w/ Blue switches, which I've read on here to be a pretty solid keyboard as well. Thanks for any help that can be provided.

The Noppoo Lolita uses MX clones, I would rather stay away from them as you can't be sure about their quality. Go for the QFR or a Filco instead.

I tried to Google their site since the link above was down, and that site also did not respond.

So it seems that people will no longer get the chance to get their hands on a keyboard that at least seems intended to get people saying about it...

"Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth. Lo. Lee. Ta."

et cetera.

To be fair, it is a keyboard, and not of the highest quality...  I don't think it will warrant such a famous comparison :)

Hmm I did a little more reasearch and came across this: http://deskthority.net/wiki/Gaote_Cherry_MX_clone

Appears it use its own clone, so I'm really not sure how the quality would compare to Cherry MX. I mainly wanted this board cause of the backlight and switch type.. but maybe I'll just buy another Noppoo w/ Cherry MX blues or try the CM or Filco as others have suggested. If anyone has any thoughts on these switch clones just let me know, I appreciate the feedback.

If you want backlighting you should go for a Ducky, they make great boards.

I'll check them out, are their any MX blue switch boards you would recommend? I'm looking mainly in $80-$120 price range. Back light isn't mandatory, more of a bonus than anything. That's the only reason I'm really interested in the board that I had linked, cheap, backlit, and blue switch.

The Ducky Shine series has backlighting and is available with MX Blues, but might be a tad out of your price range.
The CM Storm Quickfire Rapid is a cheap but good board. No backlighting, but also available with MX Blues.
The Filco is more expensive than the QFR but has a better PCB which will come in handy if you ever want to do some modding. No backlighting, but also available with MX Blues.

Those are the three most recommended boards I would say.

I got looking at the Ducky Shine and found one for a very reasonable price (its an auction with about 7 of them for sale). I read into them and I can definitely see the difference in quality with them. I just can't fully decide on tenkeyless or full size lol, they have 4 tenkeyless available as well. I think I'll go for one of them though since I can get it in my price range I'm pretty sure. Thanks for your help!
