[WTT/WTS] Asus DGX sound card
« on: Sun, 15 June 2014, 12:46:16 »
[WTT/WTS]

I have a Asus DGX PCI-E sound card up for sale.  It has never given me problems and works great as a low frills amplifier and slight upgrade over most mid-range mobos with realtek.  Basically,  it is best for someone with on-board audio that can't drive headphones that have an impedance of up to 300 ohms.  If you have headphones that need more power and aren't ready or willing to use external solutions this is perfect.  It also powers the front audio ports.  I just got a Asus STX and really can't notice a difference in sound quality.  Of course, I am not listening to studio quality recordings with my Sennheiser PC 360s.

Looking for $20 shipped.  Also, I will trade it straight up for a Razer Bungee or Armadillo, CM Skorpion or any other comporable mouse bungee.

I am putting up a Dell UltraSharp U2410 IPS 24" IPS monitor for sale. It has served me very well over the last couple of years and has worked flawlessly. I upgraded to a slightly wider monitor and have no room on my tiny desk to fit a secondary monitor of this size, unfortunately. It has no dead/stuck pixels and no apparent back light bleed. The outer condition is really good too, with no cosmetic imperfections. I kept it really clean and it comes from a pet and smoke free home. The SRGB and Adobe RGB preset modes are factory calibrated really well already and should give really good color representation.  It is a newer revision and has none of the issues previous ones had.  Needless to say, IPS monitors are way nicer to look at than a typical monitor with a TN panel.  It will come with the power cable and an HDMI cable if you need one... I didn't picture them, but thought I would mention them just in case.

It also comes with a compatible speaker bar that I haven't used in a while, but it looks and works perfect. The speaker bar is powered by the monitor and plugs into your sound card. The speaker locks into place into the back of the monitor.

I would consider a trade for a decent 21" LED backlit monitor... if IPS even better. One thing it has to be is LED backlit, but other than that I would barely be able to fit a typical 21" monitor in portrait mode on my desk, so it has to be around that size.  Depending on what you have we can possibly work out a trade and cash deal.

I am asking for $170 $120.  Probably only good for people in the Denver, CO area, since shipping this would be too expensive.

======================================

I am also listing my ASUS VG248QE with G-sync installed.  I have had for a few days and it works perfectly.  The g-sync capability is amazing and really works like advertised.  I liken it to what a SSD can do to an old system.  I am really sensitive to stutter (I game exclusively in v-sync because tearing is worse for me to handle) and this monitor remedies that perfectly.  I am listing this because I really need to sell one monitor or the other, so which ever one sells first I will keep the other.  The bezel and stand have scuff marks on them from the previous owner, but aren't noticeable in a typical lit room.  I would say they are little more than normal, but the screen itself is in pristine condition... trust me I inspected every square millimeter.  It does come with the original box for the monitor and g-sync box with the original motherboard in it.  It only works with DisplayPort and I will include one of those cables as well.

I am asking for $350 (I paid more, unfortunately) locally here in Denver, CO if you can meet me and will include the sound card for free too.  I can possibly arrange to have it shipped, but I am unsure of the shipping costs and will probably go through UPS and have them properly box it up.

If you have any other questions about it feel free to ask.

I would just like to mention I own two U2410 monitors and they stand the test of time.

The monitors are still beautiful and blow away even the new monitors I get the chance to see. That includes LED, LCD and the rest. The only monitors that look better are the IPS 4K monitors and it is still going to be a while before those come down in price and become worth upgrading.

$170 is a great deal if the shipping isn't too expensive.

Anyway, GLWS OP.

Thanks.  They are definitely still a good buy and the aspect ratio is better than 16:9.

Let me see.  I know there is some sort of menu I can get into that shows it, but I have to press some sort of button combination.

Thanks for the info, kaotikb.

The Asus monitor is pending to someone here locally.  The Dell monitor is still up for grabs and I would be willing to trade it for decent 27" inch monitor plus cash on my end here locally in Denver.

This one still looks great.  My previous one got damaged while I was moving, unfortunately.

Updated the OP with a 780 Ti.

Thanks!  It took hours and hours to make it look that way.  OCD is not a good thing when doing cable management.

au contraire, it's great for cable management.  Bad for time management.

Don't feel bad. I was so OCD about the inside of my PC I spent over $100 on specially braided cables.

Ill take a pic tomorrow.

It pays off once your done that's for sure.  The black braided cables are pretty well made.  They are extension cables, since I already had a decent power supply, but the ends of the cables were pretty ugly (other than the pci-e cables, which look nice).  Jab-tech sells a bunch of different ones for really good prices.  However, the bigger cables, like the 24 pin motherboard connector, aren't that bendable.

What kind of cards are you really looking for? I have a pair of Asus 7850 cards that are still inside of warranty, but I don't know if that would really do you what you want, but in CrossFireX, they're decent enough (depending on the resolution you're pushing) for most games at high detail.

At the moment I'm using a GTX 670, interested? Also, what would be the value that I need to add for making it a deal?

Hey guys, I have a pending offer of $150 plus a EVGA 780 ACX through Craigslist, which seems like the best deal I could hope for at this point.  However, it is Craigslist I had many deals fall through in the past.  I don't really want anything lesser than a 780, which makes it hard to find potential traders, but I understand.  I had a Sapphire Tri-X 290x for like a day and it just wasn't for me.

Thanks for the offers though.

If you haven't traded yet then I'd be happy to trade my MSI 780 Lightning plus $150, if you'd like.

Oh man... I wish I could, but I already committed to the deal tomorrow.  Also, I am not sure it would fit in my case and I love my Zalman Z9.

On a side note, I just picked up a LG 29UM65 (thanks to slickdeals) and would prefer to run it off DisplayPort.  I would trade a full size to full size DisplayPort cable plus shipping ($6) for the Asus sound card.

I will mark down the monitor and speaker bar to $120 if sold here locally.  I would ship it, but I don't have the original box and shipping monitors is a bit out of my comfort zone.  Plus, a deal would have to made for Monday at the earliest, since that is when I am expecting my new monitor.

Could you consider a dual monitor setup along with your 29? Could always use the dell in portrait orientation to reduce its footprint. Perfect for reading, like, geek hack ;)

I currently run triple 24", and use them in portrait.

So you don't have the space to keep a dual monitor setup along with your 29? Could always consider running the dell in portrait orientation. Perfect for reading, like, geek hack ;)

I currently run triple 24", and until recently, had all 3 in portrait for a while. Currently I have the two side monitors in portrait, centre one in landscape.

I wish I could, but the difference between CFL and LED lighting is too hard on my eyes.  I tried to mess with the U2410's settings, but the best result I got was what you see in the pic in the second post.  Also, my desk is definitely too small.
