check it

Technology has certainly come along way, but I only imagine the excitement when this first appeared. Ergonomics be damned.

It looks pretty difficult to use due to the large wheels used to move the pointer.  You have to start somewhere, though.

Interesting!

What is that a block of white or yellow pine?

It looks like it probably did the job, though.

I don't think it's as big overall as some of the mice in use today.

What would be kinda neat about that, though, is you could sell the mouse as kit and have the users sculpt/carve the shape of the case they want.  It would probably be too much work for the average user, though.

You might be onto something there because lots of people probably would like to be able to "mold your own" to fit your own hand and needs.

Nice demo, webwit!  Thanks.

It's kinda like a 50's Sci-Fi movie but real!

45 years later, Apple still has only one button on their mice.

Fascinating. I've watched a few of the clips. That was a pretty slick demonstration for its day.

Interesting that they demonstrated hyperlinks - really makes a mockery of British Telecom's claim to have invented them. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2000/06/19/bt_claims_ownership_of_hyperlinks/

It seems that Apple takes great pains to only keep one button.  Maybe Steve Jobs had too much to drink 30 years ago and bet $10,000 that the one-button mouse would outlive multi-button mice.  All Apple mice suck.  They do make great hockey pucks though.

Apple targets the un-poor who want to be "special" and need an "easy to use" computer.  They can't handle more than one button...

I had to use those retarded hockey-puck mice with the original teal Imacs. They have no reason to exist.
