Hi! Can you name sources to buy blank sets of high quality? If possible row-unspecific.

DSA by SP has the same profile for all rows. Some recent Cherry keycaps also have the same low profile for all rows. The first is available at SP site, the second at Taobao.

This is an example of the first.

I heard that Banggood has some nice PBT blanks and for a low cost. Their white keycaps allow LEDs to shine through if that's your style.

Banggood keycaps =/= high quality.

Source #1 banggood. The blank set on banggood may be of high quality, but has a LED window (shine through as you call it), who like? me no! :-(


Source #2 taobao. On taobao I couldn’t find blank sets, do you have a link, ideus?

Source #3 Signature Plastics. The blank DSA sets from Signature Plastics are of lower quality, Signature Plastics itself admits that, quote: “... it became necessary to reduce costs as much as possible to remain competitive. As a result, subsequent families of keycaps, like the DCS and DSA families, were designed to use less material”.

You can probably get some blank black sets. I know that there was a GB a while ago for those, but I don't know if it completed yet.
Make a post in the classifieds and see if you get results.

The OP asked for non sculpted (non-row specific) caps. IMSTO, and blank PBT sets at Taobao are Cherry and OEM profile that are not non-row-specific.

The only caps I know about that are blank and non-row-specific are DSA from SP and the G80-3800 and G80-3850 keycap sets.

When Ivan's Pitch Black Group Buy completes you will probably find a few of the thick blank black (really really dark grey actually, like HHKB or Realforce "black") PBT Cherry profile sets in the classifieds. They will probably be the highest quality blanks around for the moment.

+1.  One of the few posters here that actually read and followed through with what the OP wants.  DCS, OEM, Cherry profiles and the like are not what the OP wants.  While DSA is probably going to be the easiest one to find, lower weight and thinner walls on the keycap do not mean they are inferior.  Just different with a different feel.  That would be like saying a Corvette is a worse car than a Buick Park Avenue because it is lighter (granted they are cutting weight for different reasons).  Cutting material from the cap makes them cheaper to manufacture on the material and labor cost fronts.  So, while technically they are cheaper caps, that doesn't make them worse.  I personally prefer the feel of thin abs over thick or thin pbt.  I have yet to try thick abs or pom though.

I think people mentioned other profile options simply because he said he wanted high quality blanks that all have the same profile for each row, IF POSSIBLE. AFAIK it's not possible to find high quality keycaps like that, and I don't consider SP made keycaps 'high quality'.

The leftovers are a potpourri of colors, you hardly even get a complete modifier set in one color, except WAN. With SA, at the moment there aren’t enough SA leftovers to get a complete modifier set at all, even if I painted them all black.

Yeah, I bought a partial IMSTO blank set, thinking it'd be fairly easy to source caps to complete it...  d'oh.  :-P  Dem feels though..... mmmmmm
