Question about products on Originative
« on: Mon, 23 June 2014, 13:37:31 »
I'm looking for a set of really good keycaps.  I take it that thick keyap are best and pbt vs abs is a little debated.  So I'm gonna try both.  I'm only for cherry profile so my options are quite limited and Imsto's thick cherry pbt is out of stock so I'm currently looking at this set:  http://www.originativeco.com/collections/keysets/products/bsp-classic-beige.  However this site features horrible product descriptions so I have plenty of questions.

Questions:

These are cherry profile right?

The dropdown list makes you choose different colors on the font right?  Also, what is the otaku color?

Why is it only in tenkeyless format?  I also need the tenkey keys.  I see that it's possible to buy a tenkeypad set with this one:

http://www.originativeco.com/collections/keysets/products/cyrllic

However the site features no picture of it so I don't know how it looks, I don't like the russian cyrillic font so hopefully it doesn't feature it.  It's OK if its a different color than the Biege set since I have a seperate tenkeypad.  Any picture of it somewhere?  This set is also pbt cherry right?

Why does the biege set have those weird sizes on it's alt ctrl and win keys? Does any keyboard use this?  I have a Filco so obviously it doesn't fit mine.  AFAIK my only option is to buy these from the same seller: http://www.originativeco.com/collections/keysets/products/gmk-rgb

This item however raises more questions: What's the difference between the RGB and the RGBY set? I figure getting the Winkey set with black letters is my best option, however getting these keys in some plain color like the grey one which the full keyset features, would be much better.  However there isn't a set like that sold anywhere is it, apart from the classifieds?  (With cherry profile and thick profile pbt)

The shift keys on the biege set are the right size for a filco though right?

As i said I also want to try out thick abs cherry so I'm going to participate in the GMK DOLCH goupbuy.  When i was checking out this site I found this http://www.originativeco.com/collections/keysets/products/dolch
Is the groupbuy being started because this set is sold out, if not, what is the difference between those two sets? The colors?
