What is the best wrist rest?

So I've only ever really owned one wrist rest in the past and it was made by Grifiti, it was okay, but before long, the sides started to peel away and what not, so that didn't last very long, link here; http://www.amazon.co.uk/Standard-Keyboards-Mechanical-Notebooks-MacBooks/dp/B004D8PYE2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405106452&sr=8-1&keywords=Grifiti+wrist+rest (I obviously bought the equivelant for the noppoo choc mini, so the smaller version).

I'm just wondering what would you recommend as a good quality wrist rest that can stand the test of time without wearing away and what not, i'd rather not get a wooden one, as over time, my wrists may stick to it and what not, i'd prefer a similar one to what I have now, but if wood is the way to go? then I guess that's the way I'll have to go then wont I?!

A colleague has one made of leather that is really nice. I personally prefer not using a wrist rest.

I'm the same really, I don't really use them, I guess it's just nice to have them if you do want to use one and what not.

Yeah those grifiti wristpads are just oversized elongated mousepads....

The best wristrest in terms of durability in my opinion is 3M's gel leatherette.
I bought my 1st one in the office about 5 and half years ago and despite daily working hours use, it still looks brand new.
Recently bought one for the garage and the quality has not changed one bit although the bottom serial label has been tweeked a bit by 3M.

If your wrist is on the rest while you're typing you're doing it wrong.

In order to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome it is best not to use a wrist rest when typing.

Just use your desk surface as a wrist rest. Problem solved.

I prefer my wood wrist rests to any other's I've used.  They're far more comfortable than gel or soft ones. Wrist rest is a misnomer though since I designed it as a palm rest.

I definately rest my wrists on a wrist rest, not palms. Plus it often doubles as a soft buffer between my shins and my sharp-assed desk because I constantly have my legs up. I could never see making the switch, unless I got a really high desk I couldn't put my legs up on.

The most ergonomic way is to rest your palms. If you rest your wrists, something squishy feels better, but is worse for you.
