[help] New Ducky Shine 3, keys sticking

Hello,

I bought my second mech last week a brand new Shine 3 with cherry blues from mechanicalkeyboards.com. I was loving it at first until I realized a couple of the keys 'stick' like they don't stay down exactly when pressed but there's a noticable difference between them and the other keys as if they are rubbing on the way down and/or taking a split second longer to come back up.

The F key is the most noticeable, it feels like it's rubbing everytime you press it and it doesn't even sound like the rest of the keys almost like a brown instead of a blue switch. Since I do a lot of MMO gaming with rebound keys this is by far my most used key so this is extremely annoying to play with.

I'm not sure what to do in this spot as my first keyboard (CM Storm Quickfire TKL with reds) was perfect from the start.. my first thought was just return the board but apparently MKs.com expects me to pay shipping, charges a restocking fee, and also charges back the "free shipping" they paid for to ship it to me in the first place... so now what do I do?

Are these keys expected to 'wear in' or do I have a flawed board or what? I don't feel I should have to do repairs or dis-assembly on a new product I paid premium for.. any advice?

Return it to MK. They'll hook you up with a new board.

Sure they'll hook me up with a new board, at full retail price after they charge me $15 restocking fee (10% restocking fee), + $16.34 (cost to ship it back to them), + $9 free "to recoup our original shipping expense".

I just got off the phone with them after explaining my situation. $40.34 out of my pocket for them to take back a defective product i've had for barely a week and according to whoever I talked to I should be lucky they accept returns because "most of our competitors don't." I won't be buying from them again.

Totally not the experience I had with them. Must have gone downhill since I bought my Ducky from them. There was a defective firmware early in the Shine 3 release that caused the keyboard to crash randomly and only a reboot fixed it. They took it back free of charge.

Dont return it. Call them and tell them the unit is defective and you are not paying to send it back because you were sent a defective product. You shouldn't have to pay anything. The unit has sticky keys and some keys apparently arent clicking and sound like browns. Make a video or something depicting this send it to MK and they should listen to you. MK is a good reputable site and the team listen to your concerns. You can even post in their thread on this page about the issue if you want some more personal help/advice.
