Also, does it look to anyone else like the trackpoint is missing? I can't tell for sure from that photo.

Somehow I missed both those points.  I blame my small, low res laptop screen.

Cables can be replaced and the trackpoint is probably just missing the top rubber piece.

Just the nub; they're meant to be consumable.
You can buy ones for modern thinkpads and they'll work just fine.

If I didn't already have 3 M13's already I would've bought this one....  ;)
It was just 2 earlier this week.

Do you guys know how much does this weigh? Been wanting to try buckling spring, it's just that the shipping is  the deal breaker.

Only US $23.24 shipping for me!

Cheap, compared to the $60 or so it usually costs to ship a keyboard from the US.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

They are absolutely losing money on shipping that internationally.

If you keep it under 4 lbs, then you could ship things to aus for under $30 before they upped their pricing. I mailed a few QFRs during that time. but this weighs more the 4 lbs, is huge (you pay more for boxes over 12" long) and shipping internationally isn't as cheap as it once was.

It's possible they didn't realize they allowed international shipping for this item.
