Me too. ;)

DSA is the best (not that I've really given SA a chance yet though). Yeah the legends are pretty tiny. It looks nice here, but they might need to be larger if this becomes a real GB set.

Oh shoot, I uploaded the wrong photo.
It's actually supposed to be a dark brown almost black colour. I'll fix that as soon as I get home.it should be TAA for reference

I like the font.

Its thin, light and clean. Very much a style I like. I do agree that it is probably on the smaller side for keycaps, but I also like how it is smaller. I guess from a usability point of view, the original WYSE type font, larger but thin and light weight with a nice clean sharper shape work really well for me, and is probably why I like it more than the cherry font.

Looking very nice and promising. Give me a Tsangan and a short left shift, and that should be my requirements met :)

The modifiers look good. It could do with a slight increase in legend size, but not too much. On the other hand, I feel that the alphas definitely need larger legends. Would be happy if the alphas had bigger legends than the mods.

I'll increase the size of the Alpha legends in the morning, and see how they look. And if this set gets made there will definitely be Tsangan and other helpful kits avaliable as well. Just haven't bothered to mock them up yet. ;)

Size 7 on the Alphas, and size 5 on the mods.

Love the increase in Font size because it makes it look better overall.  Plus stick to these colours because it reminds me of ancient color-ways for old typewriters.

Of course it would look even better if you went all SA profile on this  :thumb: .

This would look pretty damn nice in a wood case, I bet.  DSA, too.  :thumb:  I'm interested.

Just change the colour of the Enter and Navigation buttons to a Dark Brown shade, will add further to a more dated look for this key-set  ;) .

On another note, I also want a red on white set, but as shown in DSA and with these legends. I know it ends up being a RA/Klaxon colour scheme, but what makes it different are the legends and the profile, so its the first red and white DSA set!

The benefit of a white and red set, is that it would be more compatible with most keyboard cases, rather than beige cases. Theres no denying that beige looks awesome in the mock-up, I always figured that beige doesn't look the same on a keyboard on a desk. Just my opinion at the moment, as I am sure there are people who would love something beige too.

Klaxon DSA would be nice but for both of these sets, I'd opt for a darker red if possible.

Updated the OP with things seperated into kits. Let me know if you guys think something is missing or should be changed.

I'm gonna stick with this being a Beige and Red set. Red and white is an awesome colour combo, but it has been done so many times. Though I wouldn't mind having a Red Alert DSA set too. ;)

Klaxon DSA would be nice but for both of these sets, I'd opt for a darker red if possible.
I haven't seen a darker red that looks very good yet.

The sets look pretty slick.

I must also say, the beige and (slightly darker) red look Really classy!! (even if we also want a white/red DSA)

I really hope this set goes well, as I will be in for a set (of at least the normal colour, probably not going to have the cash for the inverted). One thing I really love is the fact that you have retained the special function keys for the number pad, which if it survives, will be the first set to offer a proper replacement set for a number pad board (like a leopold, or cherry numberpad) Beautiful beige and red ! :) Might also be a reason to boost numberpad sales.

My only concerns now are the success of this GB. I am unsure if the inverted sets will be an issue for this GB. If there is sufficient demand, then yes it would be great, but there is a growing fear of not meeting MOQs, and thus the set failing.

Lets see how we go for interest, but I hope there are enough numbers to not need to consider cutting off the inverted sets.

Yeah, I'm trying to judge the intrest in an inverted set. If anything is to get cut, it will be the inverted sets. While they look really nice, I still think the base looks better and I would rather that ket MOQ.

Was expecting Papyrus as the legend font. Disappointed

Same. The legend sucks imo (please do not take this as an offence).

Not changing the legend makes it look like a recolor of any other sets. Just like bosses in Donkey Kong country.

Also, the "Esc, Arrow, and Enter keys" color, Wine Red / Burgundy, is really nice. If the whole modifier or the whole typing field could be this color, i would be in for this. (Yea i would take an entire DSA set with this color, seriously)

So yeah, change the font and make burgundy a color choice and i'm totally in for this.

Also PBT only like the Granite set please.

Posted a new mockup with RBC instead of RAS. What do you guys think? Also I set up a form to take peoples opinions on it and how they feel about an inverted set. Here it is, feel free to comment below as well.

No need to worry, I want perples opinion. Personally I hate Papyrus font in all but a few situations, and I don't think my keybooard is one of those exceptions.

I'm not trying to make some huge departure, I just wanted to make something with nice colours.

Just putt a mockup of it in the OP, you still like it?

Also PBT only like the Granite set please.
I can't make it PBT for a few reasons. One SP doesn't have the same colours in PBT as they do in ABS. Two I don't think they can do Double shot PBT caps (thats why DSA Dolch was ABS), and you can't Dye-sub lighter colours onto dark caps.

Oh i understand the technology limitation :( Kinda sad doe.

Still, the new mockup is by far way better in my opinion. The Burgundy and beige scheme looks "older" (even a little "wore out") and a little hipsterish, better than the "Cherry Red" thing in my opinion.

I will see for the price as i don't really like buying ABS, i get to ruin them very, very fast. Or else that'll just be a reason to buy a new board just to drop this set on...

Only received a few votes so far, so far though RBC is unanimously preferred.

How far off is the shade RBH from RAS in the SP colours.

RAS is ABS, and RBH is PBT.

http://www.keycapsdirect.com/images/colors/absred.JPG - ABS Red colours.
http://www.keycapsdirect.com/images/colors/pbtReds.JPG - PBT Red colours.

And the beige is TEA - http://www.keycapsdirect.com/images/colors/absblackbrown.JPG

PBT could also be more expensive.. But then again, it might draw more attention too on the grounds of wear resistance.

As good as this looks, I've grown too fond of having mono legends to buy a set without that as an option.
I can understand how niche that is, though.

So far there is essentially no interest in an inverted set, so if that doesn't pick up soon, I'll probably just forget about it. And the colour wars seem to have evened out a bit. I would love to offer both colours, but I don't think either would meet MOQ if we did that. So I'll wait for a few more days of votes.

Unfortunately, RBH seems a bit to bright to work well with the set. But like I said earlier, we won't be able to double shot PBT and we can't Dye sub light colours on to dark keys, so I don't think PBT is really an option. At least without not heavily moddifying this set.

I would love if there was enough support for mono legends. I feel it looks so much nicer.

What's mono legend?

Also material doesn't matter that'll just force me to buy a new set after a while. I'm not planing on dropping a fancy looking set on my daily Poker II cause i'm typing all day err day on it, therefore i'm focussing on getting some resistant sets on the daily driver. If i purchase this set, i'll drop it on a fancy keyboard for the home common computer, not my legendary battlesation of doom.

Mono legend is a kit like this one from Granite.

It makes it so no key has more then one symbol on it. It adds consistency to the board which some find really appealing.

Made a mockup of the RBC coloured set with an ISO kit plus some RGB (well GBY I guess) mods to add a bit more colour. Thought this might build some more hype/supprt for the RBC coloured set. :thumb:

RBC is by far the most appealing, in my opinion.
That desaturated green goes goes very well with it.

There seems to be no interest at all in the inverted set, so I think that is out of the question now. The colour choice is still pretty close, but still leaning towards RBC.

Well i simply meant that for the modifiers RGB should be an option and not mandatory. I strongly believe this set will manage to recieve enough visibility/orders to reach MOQ of BOTH standard and RGB modifiers. I do not propose anymore color as i already altered the main color (with good feedback nonetheless) and i was perfectly happy (down) with the set without RGB modifiers.

Since the interest check seems to be somewhat succesfull i believe on your side you should be starting to design some nice sets for tenkeys and ergodox, you know the whole classic stuff.

Only thing i believe you may re-propose is the font. Maybe some other may propose some fonts for the set. I like the idea of Mono but it's a little out of standard. Maybe you could also propose blanks (i would go blanks personally) for i believe SP doesn't care if you propose blank as well, it saves them work.

Thanks for bringing this whole thing up again eh real cool!

So it seems there was more interest in the RBC set, so I'll focus my efforts on that. I put up the new kits with the colours altered for this change. I also slimmed down the kits since no one cared about the inverted sets. If you think any kits are missing (other then mono legend, I'll do a mock up of that tomorrow and try and judge the interest) then let ke know.
