Hello! Intro.
« on: Sat, 16 August 2014, 19:12:43 »
Hey there GH!

Making my obligatory Intro post.

New to mechanical keyboards... Just got my first mech over a week ago. Currently I'm riding a Vortex Poker 2 with MX Blue's, and loving it! No idea what my next board will be, so I'll stick to customizing this one for now. I plan to add o-rings in the near future, as I seem to bottom out quite a bit, and probably get some new caps at some point. Long term I'll get an aluminum case and a new sleeved cord. All of which will be some sort of green or orange I'm sure...

Thats about it.. Thanks!
-ZE

Welcome to Geekhack!

There are a few custom cable makers on GH - I am sure they could provide you with your dream cable :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Hi, @Zero-Expectations.  I'm new here, too.  It looks like we are both starting with the same type of board. Love the RGB.

I'd love to make my own, but it would probably be best to leave it to the professionals....

Welcome to you as well! Did you go with Black or White? I was afraid of the white keys betting dirty too quickly...

I totally went black, too.   The Engrish on the space bar sealed the deal.  Yes, as a matter of fact, I am enjoying my feeling.
