Laurie's in hospital...
« on: Sat, 13 June 2009, 16:26:33 »
Hey there.
I'm Ella, Laurie's girlfriend. He's asked me to let you guys know that he is in hospital with his still undiagnosed belly problems. He might be in for a couple of days and although he does have internet access it seems that this wonderful forum is blocked for some reason. So not only is he in pain, he's mighty pissed off too.
So please email him to keep him amused.
Thanks.

I emailed him asking if they are blocking pics. I don't know how to communicate without them.

Plus the Webwit ones are good for scaring the nurses.

Sounds like hospital keyboards are not to his liking.

they're probably havent yet upgraded their keyboards to topres. ;)

Maybe while he's in the hospital he should make the most of it and evangelize keyboards to the nurses and staff.

Thanks so much for all the messages and comments on here. It made me feel a lot better genuinely.
I am still not fixed but hopefully this nasty spell will speed things up a bit more.

Nice news to see there is a New keyboard available from elitekeyboards! You know I am having one of them. Whats the story with the key coating? Was it that it wares away or what I cant remember,

So happy to be home.

:) B was very excited and curled his lips up. Its something some dogs do when very happy. They have so much emotion they dont know how to show it and it makes them kind of snarl. I have never seen B do it but the Irish in the picture above does it whenever you come back after leaving her or when you say hi in the morning. Its like a big mental smile.

Thanks for posting that pic again. Its a nice one of B looking drunk.

Wow, Laurie.  Welly finally learned Photoshop just to honor you.

Nah, he didn't even use MS Paint to hide the evidence in the corner.:embarassed:

Hope they sort you out soon Laurie, I get the occasional gut ache myself and they are a special kind of unpleasant.

Well I am back from another go in the hospital.
It all went a bit wrong which is a shame as I was promised good care this time.
A ruptured vain made the drugs disperse under the skin rather than go into the vein. Because of this they were not allowed to give me any more and had to do the gastroscopy and colonoscopy without sedation.
I can honestly say its the most painful experience since the last one.
The colonoscopy also got stuck by some obstruction and they had to call in another surgeon to see if he could sort it out, unfortunately he could not so they had to stop and take the thing out.
Nothing obvious was found but on the plus side it does not seem to be related to my kidney disease which is good as I don't want that to get any worse.

More tests have been booked but for the moment I am stuck at home again on the PC.
Sigh.

I was really hoping for an answer and a solution. Is that so much to ask?
Good to be back on here.
I have made amends with Webwit :)

Talk about one of those days! I'm amazed you went through both procedures without sedation.

For what it's worth, when I worked in a hospital (IT, not medical role) I was told you're better off getting injections from a nurse rather than a doctor. Nurses do them all the time and get *incredibly* good at it. Doctors on the other hand do them less often. Don't know if that's relevant here.

Maybe next time they should get you to have a few whiskeys in advance instead of the sedatives?

Wishing you well.

Thanks guys. I can't believe how long this has been going on.
I would have said not to go ahead with them as the sedation had no effect but I have been waiting so long for the tests I didn't want to miss them. In hindsight I would have postponed it.
I am prescribed Codeine and Diazepam and they have more of an effect than Pethidine squirted under the bloody skin!
My blood pressure is always too low anyway. My resting is about 120 over 68 and does not rise a lot under stress. I don't think Scarlett Johansson In her pants could raise my BP. Wouldn't mind testing it out though :)
