Does anyone know anything about the ducky mini?
« on: Fri, 29 August 2014, 16:58:35 »
I have been looking at the ducky mini and I was wondering if anyone had any reviews or comments about it.

It's a backlit poker 2

No, that's actually what it is. They use the same PCB and everything.

Yeah, the poker2 has support on the PCB for ISO or ANSI. I thought it was pretty nice and used the extra LED locations for unnecessary underPCB lighting when I added LEDs to my poker2

lol. Silly ducky. I think ima buy one then since the poker 2 is good, ducky is a good company, and I like ducky mini backlighting colors better than the poker 2.

Nothing can be worse than the caps on my quickfire TK, and I can always replace the caps if i want to.

I just got a non-backlit poker2 and installed whatever LEDs I wanted. I think I'll put cyan ones in it next time I have it apart.

Yeah that's not just a poker 2 that's the brand new redesigned ducky mini. There was an original ducky mini that was just a poker 2 with a ducky logo on it.

  • Missed another sale.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

There is a new one coming out soonTM. It has quite a big metal border round it which looks a bit strange, but it will come in ISO layout. Which is nice for a small board.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?
