...actually ran into a keyboard savvy vendor at work
« on: Thu, 11 September 2014, 16:17:00 »
Haven't posted in a long time here but I thought I had to share...

Was cranking away with my RK-9000BR at work while a new vendor was tagging some printers and whatnot.  He stops at my desk, "Cherry browns?"  We then went off comparing to blues versus buckling spring, tenkeyless, otaku...

I've converted quite a few friends over time. This was definitely the first time ever I've met a random stranger that appreciates mech boards.  Nice work distraction...76809-0

A guy came into the repair shop and recommended we go to pckeyboard.com for unicomps. I showed him the 1390120 I was using at the time.

I did actually, surprisingly he wasn't on any forum.  Must be a lurker because he definitely was in the know.

Heh, my second computer after the Trash 80 was an IBM XT -- I was hooked early.  ;D  Up until very recently I would swap out Blues for BS every once and a while at work.  We recently moved to a new office building with low cubes and an open floor plan...  To be polite I switched to Browns -- It was also a very good excuse to buy another board.

Honestly I've been very pleased with the switch (unintentional pun...)  Browns are definitely work friendly...

The closest I got to this was seeing a guy at work from a distance with white caps on a clearly non-standard board. As I got closer I saw it was a Logitech washable board... Hmpf...
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?
