SGI Granite - Rollover Issues?
« on: Thu, 18 June 2009, 11:25:44 »
I decided to try and use the SGI Granite as my main keyboard, but I'm having issues, particularly when it comes to typing words with the letters i and o in them.

The word "from" is particularly troublesome, and usually comes out as frm unless it is typed very slow. It seems as if the "o" is being blocked somehow because the motherboard beeps (and it often beeps when typing other words with o in them such as motherboard but they come out fine). F and r definitely block o, but I don't know why they would be doing that when typing because I know I'm not holding them down.

Is this likely to be an artefact of the keyboard requiring too much power than what my modern motherboard can provide?

Weird.  I have never heard of that.  Have you tried a PS/2 -> USB adapter?  I wonder if that would fix it.  The only other thing I can think of is that the 'board somehow got a surge and maybe damaged some of the logic parts.  Let us know what you find.
