The cable connecting the mini usb and the pcb is very shourt so i couln't test it without disassembling the small pcb where the connector is. I got confused then it wasen't in the case anymore because i had no reference point :S
Darn, don't know why more knowledeable people are not coming forth to offer their experiences. Sometimes you only need to get one component to put it in, and everything is fine again, but I don't know how to read a Ducky board.
Since the really good people seem too busy at the moment, I'll throw in what I know.
Firstly, take a complete photo of the internals. Post it as it makes things easier for the experts to see.
Lets look for the keyboard controller. On some keyboards eg Filco, CoolerMaster, the keyboard controller is a small separate PCB that is easily desoldered or pulled out and replace.
Then you can buy something from bpiphany on this website to plug in. Or you can use a teensy and wire it up. That won't bring back the LEDs, but it will make the keyboard programmable so that's good also. And Ducky uses standard layout so you can easily get nice keycaps and use it without backlighting.
If you are not so confident, another thing you can do is to sell the kb for parts and get another one. This website is full of modders who may be interested.
