Key weighting on Realforce 87U variable
« on: Fri, 26 September 2014, 10:39:00 »
Was wondering if anyone here had an exact breakdown of the weights of the alphanumeric keys on the Realforce 87U variable. I know 1, Q, A, and Z are 30g, along with -, =, [, ], ', ;, and /. Are 0 and P 30g?

The chart on Elitekeyboards is a bit confusing because the blue color fades as you go from the ends to the middle, which implies to me that some of the keys, such as 2, W, S, and X might not be 30g or 45g but perhaps 40g or another weight entirely.

Any insight is appreciated.

Hey Saturn!
I found the weighting chart on Leopold's official site to be MUCH clearer than the one on eelitekeyboards. That one left me very confused when I first looked at it.  Here's the link, you just need to scroll down a bit. I hope this helps!

That was going to be the next thing I did, while saving the image for posterity. I wanted to know because I was thinking about doing a dome swap on my 87USW to be uniform across the alphanumerics. Not that I mind the variable weight, but I think I could be more efficient with full 45g weighting on the keys I use the most. Now that I know which keys are which, I can plan accordingly.

Thanks again to everyone for your help.
