Hello Keyboard Lovers!
« on: Thu, 09 October 2014, 22:24:10 »
Hello everyone! My name is Dan and I think typing is extremely fun. I only own two mechanical keyboards as of now due to being a nearly broke college student. One of these is a Ducky Zero with MX Browns which is currently collecting dust because I am not a fan of the ABS caps nor the Browns. On the other hand, I absolutely adore the keyboard that I am currently using, the Poker II with MX Reds. For keycaps I am using blank white caps from Banggood and a black aluminum case from Pexon! I love the way reds feel (but would enjoy trying blacks or vintage blacks very much) due to my somewhat forceful typing.

Right now the only product I am in the market for (due to monetary restraints) is a nice accent keycap (escape key). Does anyone have ideas on where to find something that would make my keyboard really pop? I'll attach a picture of it now.

Welcome to Geek Hack! 60% keyboards are my personal favourite as well. You could check out the classifieds for some nice accent caps, or you can check out this list.

I looked through all of the novelty sites and they were all either not my style or a different profile (DCS/SA).  :(

If yout just want it for your esc cap, a different profile is not a huge deal. I actually prefer it in some cases. I'm a vim user so easily hitting the esc key is really useful.

Welcome to geekhack! Another MX Red lover! I also switched from the Blues of my Ducky to the Filco Majestouch 2 TKL with reds and they just feel so good to type on and the sound of it hitting the board is also statisfying. Glad to see another person that loves Red switches, though my preference might change again though.

Welcome to Geekhack!

All of the novelty keycap sites?

Did you check this thread? :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
