I have posted several comments on steampunk boards, and continue to hold some fantasies about future projects of my own. But they never seem to rise to the top of my project list.

*edit* I am not perfect. One time I thought I made a mistake. I was wrong. *edit*

He was widely regarded as the steampunk keyboard master.

"Starting in 2011, the deficits again started to shrink. During Obama’s term  the deficit was reduced by $900 Billion  before finally in 2015 the GOP managed to wrangle a “reconciliation” bill out of Obama where he again cut corporate taxes, as well as made permanent some of George W. Bush’s original tax cuts. This is the year everything reversed. Before this, under Clinton, Bush and Obama the deficit in almost every year was gradually decreasing. The balance we had of taxes and the economy was bringing the deficit down, the money coming in was slowly catching up with the money going out until 2015. Trump’s subsequent tax cut has continued the new trend even after the rest of Bush’s cuts have since expired. Obama had an average GDP of 2.3%, with 11.6 million jobs created and unemployment peaking at 10% in 2009, then falling to 4.3% in 2016. If we had continued on that downward deficit track, we would have again reached balance and another surplus in 2017-2018.

He was a young man who took his own life a few months ago, a tragedy, as always, when this happens.

He was widely regarded as the steampunk keyboard master.

Very busy with studies atm.

These are really cool looking boards. Very original! Very unfortunate to hear about his passing.

The shop is still open
http://www.datamancer.com/cart/
and now you can order also a set of keycaps
http://www.datamancer.com/cart/datamancer-typewriter-keys-p-276.html

That is pretty slick.  That tall deco font reminds me of cheesy 60s era pop culture and whatnot

Definitely might order this one

There are plenty of such mods around the interwebz and especially DeviantArt, although usually not as complex (and commercially available) as Datamancer's. It's the same heresy as the keyboard "art", they're harvesting parts (keys in particular) from typewriters.

Edit: mods, can you please edit the reference to his alleged suicide out of the previous posts as to not tarnish this good man's name?
Perhaps it would be a good idea not to force your religious beliefs upon others.

It has nothing to do with religion. Speaking misinformation about someone that could even remotely be construed as negative is tarnishing someone's name. Especially if they're deceased. Begone troll.

I did a bad thing and I am sorry. I can only use carelessness and faulty memory as excuses.

What about Make's update then?

(Update: Since this article was posted, sadly, MAKE has learned that Richard committed suicide)
Is there actually a proof that it was a car accident without the word "apparently" or some synonyme?

What does it really matter? I mean, he is gone, there is no point in dragging this out just to prove a point. If it was a car accident that is a horrible tragedy. If it was something else, that is also a horrible tragedy. I see no value in digging this information up, particularly here.

On topic, I still think this looks awesome, and will be looking into getting one. It would make a great conversation piece, and I always need an icebreaker.

Edited for clarification
