Gotta love those 'hacker style' keyboards with "Semi-clicky" action...

Between the keys is awfully shiny. Is it likely to be a plate mounting for alps or cherries or just some exceptionally shiny plastic?

Shiny plastic and a really bright flash. If that's an Alps/Cherry board, I will gladly eat my Model F whole...

Physical click but no audible one like brown cherrys and black alps.

Or maybe the dull thud of an ordinary ol' rubber dome switch being hit hard. Uh-oh--it looks like his camera blurred out the "Made in China" sticker on the back!

Rubber dome.  I have this board, it's not bad if it's unused early on for a rubber dome, but still a far distance from a mechanical.  They wear terribly, and get keycaps that are super wobbly.  I have one that my mom used for like 2 years, and it's caps wobble back and forth about 50 degrees I swear.

Is your mom's one "semi-clicky" as well?
