New All Alloy Mechanical Keyboard from DSI

http://blog.computex.biz/post/Computex-2009-DSI-All-Alloy-Mechanical-Keyboard.aspx

Just ran across this site randomly, seems there are new mechanical keyboards from DSI, and one has swappable numpads, for some users here, they probably will remove the numpads altogether .  Anyway the site says prices start at 10,000 taiwanese dollars.  A bit more expensive than your topre or HHKB Pro.  Wonder if these will catch on to the people at geekhack.

Those are usually for ATMs etc. Also available in stainless. There is only the front plate, no case.

Here is the other new keyboard they have with a swappable number pad.  Or don't connect it at all...

It's actually a modular keyboard, the USB ports on the side can be used for a variety of accessories like blackberry docks, trackballs etc. as well as a numpad. The mac version is already availible (Xsphat has one) and the windows version should be coming soon.

The metal one is just a standard industrial keyboard, they've been around for years.

I am actually using one of these mechanical modulars right now, and it is actually very nice.  The numpad will be out Aug., with the rest of the modules scheduled for first quarter '10.

BTW, the Blue Cherry is driving everyone nuts in the office, but I really like it!

Later....
