[WTB] Krytox 103 Lube
« on: Sun, 02 November 2014, 12:00:12 »
Wondering if anyone has some leftover Krytox 103 lube from any group buys, or some that just never got used. Can’t seem to find any that is reasonably priced in any corners of the internet.

Another Krytox source or Mechlube 2?
« Reply #4 on: Wed, 28 January 2015, 10:23:19 »
Does anyone know of an additional source for small amounts of Krytox 103? I ordered some from Gon a couple of weeks ago and only just caught another thread (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=43915.390) that mentions that he's snowed under with work now and is shipping/communicating slower than usual.

I don't want to wait around for an indeterminate amount of time for lube for an ErgoClear project, and figure that I should just order from another source if it exists. Otherwise there is Mechlube 2 from http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=access,misc&pid=mechlube_2. Anyone have opinions on this?

This will be to go into an MX Clear board that requires desoldering, so I will only ever lube it once (I never want to have to open the board again).

Have you looked at the premixed geekhackers krytox mixes yet? They should be sold at mk.com

Oh, I should have mentioned that I'd checked both mechanicalkeyboards and techkeys and they're both out of both the thick and thin mixtures. Techkeys has something called the "very thick" mixture left in stock which I am guessing is for stabilizers rather than switches.

Otherwise, there are sources like Amazon or industrial supply places, but they sell in quantities of a kilo, which is expensive and overkill.

Edit: I ended up ordering the Mechlube 2 and recieved shipping notification within a day.
