M0116 with Orange Alps (from Canada)
« on: Mon, 17 November 2014, 22:23:07 »
Bit pricey at about $38 (exactly $38 shipped for me) if you're in the US, but they may take a lowball offer or it could be a good buy for someone in Canada.  It's missing some caps, but if someone wants to convert the boards instead of using it as a donor, I have some I could send you for free or shipping cost, depending on where you are.

Wow, I can't believe it costs $19 to ship it from Calgary up to Edmonton. You'd think it would be dirt cheap, but for some reason they charge the same price to ship it accross the continent as they do to ship it next door. Damn it.

In the US, there are "flat rate" boxes that always cost the same, no matter. They roughly correspond to the rate for, say, 5 pounds, 2/3 of the way across the country. Light packages to near destinations can go much cheaper, but you can't use the "flat rate" box.

There is not a good mechanism in ebay for anything between their shipping calculator and "same cost to everyone". For example, living near Atlanta, I would like to charge, for shipping a Model M, for example, about $11 in the Southeast, $14 for anywhere else east of the Mississippi River, and $18 (flat rate) for the western part of the country, but there is no way to do that. (And by the way, shipping that Model M to the West Coast, via Priority Mail, without flat rate, is about $23.)

"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

Whoa, why is this model so cheap? I like that it's smaller then the full size. Do all of these models have orange? Or would I have to pm them to see if it has orange or salmon?

They can have Orange or Salmon.  There's no test I know other than popping a cap.
