For IBM Model M Enthusiasts
« on: Wed, 26 November 2014, 21:23:04 »
Was browsing a bit and was struck by the fact this was completely new: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/NEW-TERMINAL-IBM-IO-58-003-MODEL-M-CLICKY-SPACE-SAVER-PS2-KEYBOARD-SPRING-KEYS-/331360380618?pt=US_Vintage_Computing_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d269e26ca

My knowledge about IBM M models is non-existant, except for the fact I know there are many IBM M model enthusiasts on GH.

Hopefully it is helpful / useful to someone

Saving space on his desk if he sells it?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

No. I'm pretty sure the implication is that it doubles as a desk.

Right, as mentioned. No knowledge on the IBM models, just thought as it is new, it might be of interest to someone. All that good bandwidth wasted for nothing  ;)

There are far cheaper Unicomps of a similar layout, brand new. We've already got some threads on them.
