GH-60 KIT?
« on: Sun, 07 December 2014, 16:11:40 »
well I've found a "GH-60 kit" on TaoBao, is it original GH-60 or just some Chinese-copied PCB?

The final GH60 files have not been released yet. So either it is a clone/fork or a beta version.

Rev. B PCBs have been on taobao for a while now. Note that this isn't "official" but since the files are public and production is allowed, this is totally legal as far as I know. Some people take issue with it's ethics, but it doesn't break any laws.

I see, so it is OK to buy? 'Cuz I want to build a PCB mount Cherry White keyboard in HHKB layout, and GH-60 is the only PCB I found that satisfied my requirement

If the seller is any good, you'll be mostly fine. Rev. B has some issues with the way it does LEDs which means that they don't quite work right.

And as a personal thing, I despise MX whites. They're very inconsistent.

Like tact said, whites are inconsistent. Some are good, some don't even click.
If you want to have whites, you will have to buy a bunch and do some binning which may not be worth it at the end of the day.

Thanks for the information, I don't want LEDs at all so that issue doesn't affect me.

Then what about MX Green? I want something really clicky.

Greens or blues are fine.
If you want REALLY clicky, then whites are the worst since the point is that they have a quiet click to them.
I have never tried greens, but blues are quite nice.

Thanks, I've tried a green switch included in the WASD sampler pack, it feels good, (at least I think) better than blue

Yeah I saw some on taobao too.   But I guess the quality shouldn't be a problem?

I hope so, if there is any problem with it, it will be impossible to ship it back from US to China and request a repair.

Yup that would be the only issue with issues. If it's a legit seller. The items should be OK I think.
