One other thing to consider: the Japanese yen is currently at a VERY favorable exchange rate to the US dollar.
I managed to snag an HHKB Type-S directly from PFU from their Rakuten storefront for $247. With the Tenso handling fee, my grand total for the Type-S shipped (around 250 dollars USD) is lower than EliteKeyboards charges for the non-Type-S HHKB. Preposterous, I say!
