RealForce 87U's dip-switch #3 for NumLock isn't working?

I've had my Type-S 87U for a couple of days now, and I can't figure out if the dip-switch for the NumLock is broken, or I'm just not understanding how it works.

My assumption, based on the chart on the back of the box, is that switch #3 turned on will disable NumLock from changing the U,I,O,J,K,L,M,etc keys to numbers, so even if the NumLock is engaged (LED light on), those keys will still behave normally as alphabets and not numbers. And in order to have those keys behave like number, I'll need to have the dip-switch #3 to off position, and then engage NumLock. Am I wrong in my assumption?

So far, I've tried it both ways, and both behaves exactly the same--those keys will behave like numbers if NumLock is engaged. And yes, I did try to change the dip-switch while the keyboard is disconnected from the computer or when the computer was turned off.

Also, should another keyboard or Numeric Keypad also plugged into the same computer affect the above behavior? I'm seeing that my Adesso NumPad and other keyboards's NumLocks changing the NumLock status on the RealForce.

You're unplugging the keyboard then re plugging after adjusting the DIP switches, right? Just making sure.

It appears your dip switch bank might be faulty. I changed switch #3 on my 87u to the "on" position and the num lock is completely disabled. No lights or anything.

It sounds like the other keyboard/numpad you have attached might be causing the issue. I would try disconnecting the those and re-testing to see if it makes a difference.

I just tested mine and it behaves like you would expect. When the switch is on I can't activate the built-in num pad and the num lock led never lights up.

Okay, I just tried again to make sure, and it worked. I guess I either unplugged the wrong keyboard while doing it, or I did it while the computer was off, thinking that will work too (and maybe it doesn't, since there's still a little bit of power remaining in the computer even when powered off).

Chalk this one up to me not being vigilant enough.
