I've considered getting a Keycool 84 and selling my TKL. A little bit more space saved and I like the F keys closer to the numbers. What do you guys think?

Have an older backlit KC84 and was very impressed with the quality.  Outside of keycaps, I liked it more than my Choc Mini.

However, CptBadass did a review on the Keycool 87 Hero with Kailh and he doesn't seem to like it much at all.

Yes unfortunately it seems the older Keycool 84's are harder to find, or more expensive.

Except this has Kailh switches, not MX.  My older KeyCool 87 with MX reds is still going strong.  A shame I don't like MX reds :))
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Check the review before you buy it.

Yes thanks for all the info! I know there are some 75% that are going to Kailh, but I'd really like to try the layout compared to a TKL. Of course I would really like the assurance most get from the cherry name.
