Mmh, additionally he has two new/almost new smartphones and "lightly used" Prada sunglasses for sale.  Quite professional auction descriptions, too.  Suspicious, definitely.

This much bidding with a week remaining of the 10 day auction does make me suspicious.  I offered to buy the board from him for $160; he turned it down and stated that he was looking for at least $200 as new ones sell on eBay for $280+.  Less than a day later a "bidding war" has occurred and the price of the keyboard is at almost $160... and there was still 8 days or so left in the auction.  I suppose it could be legit and that there are a lot of very desperate HHKB wanters who don't know how to bid on auctions... but it seems too suspicious for me.

New ones are less than 250$, I fail to see how he could get 200$ for an used one with no warranty and no photos documenting its conditions.

100% feedback.  Stolen photo.   Hasn't sold anything in the last 12 months.

Can anyone say the phrase....."hijacked account"?

ripster Maybe you read it wrongly but i was only hitting at the bid wars that was going, i really don't see anything wrong with that auction, if the account was hacked why would the perp sell something of no real value, $200 dollars after fees on ebay is nothing compared to other items, as for the photo i myself use the retail photo on many occasion.

Not everyone uses ebay to make a buck, there are rich people out there who just do on this side, to get rid of what they call old junk, i don't see why there are so many people so skeptical about buying from ebay, when the completely overhaul it to go in favor of buyers, if item isn't delivered or is not as describe file a claim and get your money back, simple.

Obviously hoping that potential bidders wouldn't be aware of elitekeyboards.com...

Was that this thread, back in April?

I think at that point elitekeyboards.com was not mentioned only because it didn't [STRIKE]yet exist.[/STRIKE] carry HHKBs until mid-May.

EDIT: Corrected after checking my facts more carefully.

Why would we want to keep it hidden? Elitekeyboards.com provides great service to us geeks, the least we could do is a little free plugging when available. I think overall this helps iMav as well, as there's numerous linkbacks in testimonials to Geekhack.org
