AEKII + iMate on Win7
« on: Mon, 02 February 2015, 19:23:28 »
A friend is having an issue with his AEKII I am trying to solve. He is trying to use the AEK on  a Windows 7 PC, and he bought the Griffin iMate converter so he could connect to USB.

Now, the board won't work at all in Windows. It won't even turn the Lock lights on. However, I did discover that the keyboard did actually work in BIOS. Lights, modifiers, the works. As soon as Windows begins to boot though, functionality ends. You can't even turn on/off the lights you were just modifying.

Is this typical? Does the AEKII + iMate not work with Windows 7? From what I have found so far, it really sounds like a driver issue, although the adapter registers just fine in Device Manager, the keyboard won't register at all.

Works for me.

Boot up the computer with a PS/2 keyboard and plug in the iMate "hot" the first time.

After the OS recognizes it the first time, it should remember.

Thanks, I had only tried it from a cold boot. It seems to be working now.
