Media keys or Not to Medias keys?

Personally I like to buy my keyboards with a minimalistic design with no FN or funky looking media keys.
So what do other people on GH think about them?

I have a gigantic keyboard so I have a few keys dedicated to media since I have so many, but in general I like keyboard shortcuts for most purposes.

Yeah, I always put it in if I can through FN, and if I can't I use toastify to use custom media controls for spotify.

Wow, I've never heard of it. I have a HHKB in the mail, and the biggest thing I will miss is the media keys and volume knob. Is this thing worth it?

there is a bluetooth version, but it only works for apple last time i checked. but the wired version is perfectly fine.

I personally love my media keys on my K95 since it's right beside my mouse hand so i don't even need to take my hands off my mouse for the most part.
I've kinda always had media keys so i'll find out if i miss them when i get my GON but even then i think i can bound media keys.

bluetooth version (new version) only works for apple. the wired one worked fine for me on windows 7. might want to do some research on windows 8 support before you buy. but i couldn't recommend it enough.

Those powermates seem to not support windows devices now, which is immensely frustrating. Maybe some sort of programmable mouse is my best option..

I just use shortcut keys for everything. I don't like the look of media keys - besides, I prefer old keyboards so none of them have any.

Media  keys never did anything for me and  I've never used them. Don't think my music player of choice even supports them, actually. (WinAmp)

I use AutoHotkey to remap anything I need that my keyboard does not provide out of the box, so although I use media keys everyday their absence on a particular keyboard wouldn't be much of a deterrent.
