Think for me that can't think for myself this year
« on: Mon, 23 February 2015, 18:42:19 »
Hey guys, it's the new year and the new lunar year also and I would like your suggestions on which new keyboard to buy and add to my collection.
Suggest me a keyboard that I don't already own that you think I would like.
Maybe a kul with a colored case? Hmmm

Thanks for your input.
May the thock be with you, have a blessed year ... also why is it so warm right now in February what is this.

Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

What is this.

It was a joke. :) But I was going to recommend a KC. But I would see what they bring out later in the year.

But it's not something you wait all year to  buy and don't buy anything else... :( as much as I love them.

I do want another one...

I think a good start is to know what you already have, aye?

Good point.
I suppose I didn't want to stop anybody from recommending something I (probably) wouldn't try based on my keyboard history.

I've had or extensively used:
Leopold 750
Leopold 660 C
HHKB Type-S
CM Novatouch
CM TKL
Reaforce 87
Filco MJ-2 Ninja
Filco MJ-2
WASD v2
Noppoo Choc Mini Wireless
Logitech Orion Spark

Maybe missing a few but that's the general list.

1. Try contoured SA profile keycaps on your Novatouch (PuLSE, Hack'd by Geeks, Retroblight, etc.)
2. GON NerD TKL with switches / mods that you find interesting and want to try.
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

Hmmm trying not to prejudice myself against switches since I'm looking for something new but truthfully I don't know how I feel about greens.

Definitely plate mounted from what I've seen. The earliest shots without a plate were misleading and not representative of the final product. If all the best rumours are true it'll be a great board:

Well built heavy aluminium case (like the one Pexon sells which seems to be a pre-production run of these exact cases. I have one, they're very nice).
Plate mounted.
Standard layout.
FULLY programmable, allowing you to reposition the Fn and Pn switches properly.

Now if they'd bring it out as stock with Clear switches =  insta-buy.
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

Still waiting to be indoctrinated to that club.
The SSK cult isn't that great at marketing or pr though, that's for sure.

I normally go for blanks but blanks just don't have the color and pizazz.

If I get a kul with red top replacement, which tai hao key set would you get?

Try something with Alps? Looks like you haven't tried yet.
