Sourcing Stabilizers
« on: Wed, 25 February 2015, 01:22:29 »
Where are people getting their stabilizers for builds with 7x spacebars? It seems like there's a major shortage of stabilizers or I'm just not privy to where they can be acquired consistently and reasonably. I keep thinking about building some keyboards either from scratch or purchasing one that allows for 1.5x mods and a 7x spacebar but always back out once I remember there seems to be no way to get stabs.

Is anyone in the community working on this if there is no reliable source? If not what can we do as a community to remedy the situation so that building boards with reasonable layouts is something everyone can access?

Some options:

1) Imsto's website
2) GON's website
3) LZ's website (Maybe? I know he had them offered with some other GBs)
4) Old Cherry boards
5) IvanIvanovich's GB
6) Classifieds
7) DIY
8 ) Zeal's GB

I have stabilizers from harvesting old Cherry boards for parts, the classifieds, and one of LZ's group buys. I've also got a few coming from Ivan's GB. They're kinda hard to find to be honest.

Someone in the community can step up and make a bunch of them by hand or contact a manufacturer to have them made. Then GB or sell them for retail.
