Hi, long time follower but first time posting
« on: Wed, 25 February 2015, 11:57:45 »
Hi, been a long time follower on here for a few months now but only decided to make an account on here today, mostly because I was getting fed up with r/mk and the general level of immaturity on there.
Currently I only have 1 mech (Filco Majestouch 2 TKL with blues) but hope to have more in the future.
Any advice on cool sub-forums for a newb such as myself?

If you like working with your hands you should go to the "making stuff" section.

The "jailhouse blues" modification is amazing and you might really like it, but it is a lot of work.
"It's 110, but it doesn't feel it to me, right. If anybody goes down. Everybody was so worried yesterday about you and they never mentioned me. I'm up here sweating like a dog. They don’t think about me. This is hard work.
Do you feel the breeze? I don't want anybody going on me. We need every voter. I don't care about you. I just want your vote. I don't care."

Welcome to Geekhack!

If you haven't already, you could have a read through the recommended reading list - that should keep you busy for a while :p

After that it kinda depends on what you are interested in.  Building or modding something?  Keyboards?  Keycaps?  Ergonomics?  Looking at pictures of other people's keyboard (for inspiration, of course!).
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
