Qtronix QX-022R Numeric Keypad, DB9 Serial
« on: Mon, 31 August 2009, 21:13:41 »
I picked up ten of these (used but clean) today at a government surplus warehouse:

They're pretty clicky and have what appear to be white Cherry switches.

Does anybody else here have one? I'd be much obliged if somebody could hook me up with the drivers diskette.

Thanks.

They don't have the Cherry logo on them so I guess they're copies.

Yeah, those Cherry copies seem to synonymous with Qtronix.

I have one, not sure it's the same model but it has the fake Cherrys and DB-9. Have to look for the drivers disk.

Looks like the designer for the disk label did not have a production sample so he took his phone for reference:

Lots of people call that a DB-9 connector even though it's a DE-9, I know I always did. Maybe because DB looks like a contraction of D-Sub?

Re drivers, you might not need them. Just use SerialKeys. I'm sure that if Windows can manage this, other OSes can too.

Looks pretty neat, but that's not DB9.

Any chance you could source more and resell?

Yeah OK, DE-9 then.

How many do you want?

This has info on the finer working details, but won't be any immediate help to Windoze users like myself.

Just throwing it out there so it can be found more readily by anyone who could benefit...

Update: tested successfully on XP and 7 (both with onboard serial port and Prolific USB serial port device). Looks like this is it.

I have the driver and will happily give it to anyone who asks. Just PM me.
