New g20 keycaps from pimpmykeyboard.

http://keyshop.pimpmykeyboard.com/products/full-keysets/g20-blank-keycap-sets

I smell a new GB with dye-subbed pbt caps.

Awww no yellow :(

Also one of their pictures shows orange, but it is not available in the colour dropdown.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Beg pardon, but what is the difference apart from appearance? IE it's just another DSA in a way. What makes them unusually attractive?

Looks like they are flat on top.

Heh. I have tons of flat keycaps that I can't sell.

Looks are pretty important in keycaps, as far as I'm concerned

I don't know how these keys feel, but they definitely look pretty bad, so very bad

I bought a set of these, and apparently I'm a unicorn because I actually like flat caps. These feel pretty nice but I really wish they had legends.

You could carve small legends on the edges, but I've never seen any successful custom legend attempts :)

Although since the caps are flat and large, small amateurly carved legends could be authentic/fun, not a good idea tho

They're not absolute **** but I would never ever use a full board with them. It started as "gamer" novelty to be able to quickly find certain clusters and keys faster (but what ****ing noob actually has trouble with that?) so I don't see why they're offering full sets. The texture is slightly above average for ABS but it's still ABS :P

Cylindricals with low roughness are still the best typing surface. Is like silk under your tips.

I've thought about that. I've also considered finding a local place with a laser engraver and taking my board to them. If I can't have doubleshot at least I can have something that won't wear off. It's hard to justify doing that when I know in another week I'll have put my crap-bag all-SA R3 set on, though.

These look awful to type on, but even if they were fine to type on, I still think they're ugly as sin.

I don't understand the appeal of these at all. If you just want colored blanks why go for the wonky profile?

Ugly and uncomfortable, there is no reason to get them.
