New to Geekhack.
« on: Fri, 13 March 2015, 14:52:12 »
Hello, I'm new to geekhack. I'm an old hat at forums but pretty new overall to the mechanical keyboard scene. I got my first mechanical keyboard about 4 months ago, the Corsair k65 RGB. Earlier this week I got my second keyboard with the CM Storm Novatouch. I'm looking forward to the knowledge that this forum has to offer in my journey down the rabbit hole of Mechs.

Side note: The verification images hurt my eyes.

Welcome to GH, looks like you're off to a good start.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

Thanks. Just ordered the Eve set from PMK this morning as well. This novatouch is probably the best thing I've ever typed on.

Welcome to Geekhack!

Verification images should disappear after 10 posts or something like that.

Do you find that you prefer the Corsair or the Novatouch (as they are quite different keyboards)?  Or just like both and having the two to alternate between?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Well that's good news, I don't think I could take it forever.

I've had the Novatouch for around 5 days so far, and I definitely like it more than the Corsair. But I still really enjoy the k65.

I'm the same - lots of different keyboards with different switches, and I like most of them.  It's nice to swap them around from time to time.
