JDCarpe is indeed inspiring. His good deeds go on and on. Here is his latest.

JD, you're the superhero of this tale... in contrast to the villain, who I'll call Mr. Glass...

Yeah good man JD, but that's a pity he had to do it in the first place.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Oh wow, now that's what you can call community support! Good on JD if he did it just for being such a nice person.  :p :thumb: :D
However I don't like the idea of someone having to fix the problems for someone elses  :-\

Aww, thanks guys!

But it's a small thing, really. No need for accolades for simply trying to help out a couple of community members facing an unfortunate situation.

I know I've really come off like a grump recently. Maybe I've been in a bad mood or something. I've been accused of trying to derail group buys and just generally being obnoxious. Not my intention, I assure you. If you look at the meaning behind my posts, I think you will find that even when I come across as being negative, it's really me trying to help out in some way. I want group buys to succeed, and not have flaws. I want the membership to be aware when a possible negative situation catches my attention. I'm not trying to be a jerk or create drama. I simply want Geekhack to maintain the high standards that have been a trademark of the forum since its inception.

Anyway, the situation referenced in the OP will soon be resolved, and everyone can go back to enjoying keyboards and related interests.

Thanks for reading!

[TL;DR] Thanks, and happy to help. Also, I'm not trying to be a jerk lately, even if I come across that way. :)

It's community spirit, that occasionally seems to be lacking around here.

Thank you for restoring it :)

I really hope that Mr. Glass will forget his grudge against the world and just pay you in full quickly. You haven't pissed him off and you have built up a lot of goodwill so surely he might do better than that.

Would suck if we all have to wait until 2017 for you to necrobump this thread with an update!
