FILCO Majestouch 2 Lag Problem
« on: Mon, 20 April 2015, 04:38:54 »
Hi keyboard experts
I have a problem with my FILCO Majestouch 2, and I'd like to hear an opinion from you.

What happens is this: Say in a text editor you have "apple pie" and the caret is just before the 'a' of apple.
in windows, normally you'll have that:
- pressing CTRL-RightArrow the caret will jump before the 'p' of 'pie'
- pressing CTRL-SHIFT-RightArrow the the whole 'apple' word gets selected and the caret jumps before the 'p'.

now, with the Filco, CTRL-SHIFT-RightArrow most of the time behaves like CTRL-RightArrow.
The caret is moved without selecting the word.

It is like the SHIFT gets detected late because if I press CTRL-SHIFT and then wait a little (500ms) before pressing the RightArrow the issue goes away. So its like SHIFT gets detected late.

Now the key thing is this:
if I plug another keyboard (I use http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-ph/b/comfort-curve-desktop-2000-for-business/2AH-00001 this) I DON'T HAVE THE ISSUE.
Key rate and delay don't change. No matter where I plug it.
With the Majestouch I ALWAYS have the issue
With a Microsoft keyboard I NEVER have the issue

An important thing to note is I am working mostly through Remote Desktop. So obviously there is a lag related to the remoting.

I have the same issue with two different machines. I've also moved from XP to Windows7 on one of the two machines and the issue remains.

now, given all the other conditions don't change, it must be something related to the Filco keyboard. either the hardware or how the OS sees the keyboard.

Gone through the customer service already, passing from 'check you repeat delay' to 'remove Intellitype' to silence.

I am quite disappointed since my 120$ keyboars lags, and my 20$ on doesnt.
Have you ever heard of this problem before? Any advice on how to fix it?
