another point to note is, whilst we are using cherry profile, these caps are not meant to be replicas of gmk, whilst i understand gmk is the benchmark, and comparisons will be made, we are not trying to make a replica, there will be differences, and simply because something may be slightly different, doesnt mean it is wrong

i have looked through my beta caps, and measured, on mine, the tab is fractionally closer to the edge, but my enter keys are spot on

i think the angle of the picture accentuates this issue, i also dont know if those pics are of the final legends as several got fixed very recently

what i do now know is production has finished, and they are currently underway in the sorting process, as soon as i get pics ill post here

Nice, are the extra keys a happy surprise or will you release that before for extra hype? :)

some are a surprise

some i have mentioned previously in the thread

i can also confirm in future buys there will be 1800 support (but not in this one)

and the level of customisation we will show off for the next sets will blow people away, i cant wait to share what we have planned

Pretty much.

Bunny is always up to something good

just wait until you see what i have planned for the launch of the new store

Sweet. Glad to here there is even more being prepared for the future sets.

Also, any update on the sliders? Photos, or any info on when we can add more to our orders?

pics will come when i have them good sir

and they will be on their way to me shortly

as for info on them, in case you missed it, every slider order gets a topre spacebar in cherry profile to match the set, as well as the other 2 stab variants of sliders for full compatibility across the topre range

as for adding stuff to orders

i have 200 extra sets of sliders on the way to me, as well as some spare sets that you have currently seen, as well as another set we had made at the same time but wasnt available for gb, all of those will go on sale shortly with the launch of the new store, almost certainly in time to add to your current order

If the mystery set is some variation of nub's manly unicorn colorway, then imma have to throw my monies at you. Just sayin'.

bunny,

Will you have extra of the longer sliders? I have a HHKB Pro JP and was wondering if you know if they would fit the ISO enter and mini spacebar.

Hello Bunny,

Here is the question people need answered. (Well I do anyway) ;)

Will you be making any topre sliders that are longer with custom silencing pads?

Then you can mod any topre board to be silent.

The Cherry profile is perfect!

I have plans to pair my JTK set with some GMK modifiers of various colours.

I wonder whether JTK will be able to make just modifier sets?  Like RGB, CMY or other?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Really, I want to know about the possibility of ALPS/Matias adapters being made?

I really love the feel of the Alps (which might be the opposite of a topre?) and would love nicely made adapters or new sliders which would allow for the use of ALPS with MX stabs. Right now I am getting by on some pad printed caps and then using Gateron Blues with new springs on the others.

The ALPS keycap selection is AWEFUL!

My friend, aim high! Perhaps we could generate enough interest to have honest to goodness ALPS keycaps made! No compromises, just sweet sweet goodness.

I've asked since I have working models for male Alps/Male MX adaptors.  The only thing I need to do a little more tweaking on is the MX to old school Alps stabilizer and that's just a minor sideways shift.

Okay, hello. This is my first post on GeekHack. I'm on Reddit a lot, but I thought I'd come over here to ask some questions about the stab problem. So I've read the earlier replies and Bunny has made it clear that we can't use MX spacebars with the sliders, which makes sense because there are stabs in the way. I know this has probably been discussed before, but couldn't a small rectangular piece be manufactured that we can glue onto the bottom of MX spacebars that would allow for the key to connect to the space bar? On the bottom of the key, there are two indented rectangles that the stabs connect to. I'm sure you all know what the bottom of the key looks like, but here it is for reference: https://elitekeyboards.com/proddata/images/th/tspacebar_blk_001_th0x0.jpg. Obviously, you'd need to use some sort of non-permanent adhesive that is strong and won't come off after 5 hours of use or whatever. Clips with different heights and angles could be manufactured to accommodate for popular key profiles like Cherry, sculpted SA, uniform SA, DSA, OEM and other types so that everyone can get the spacebar that they want on their keyboards! Now obviously, someone would have to gather dimension data regarding the clips if they aren't already available online and finding a manufacturer might be hard if JTK don't want to do it, but it might be possible. Now I might be spouting absolute garbage, but this seems like it could work. Thanks for reading this. I'm not quite sure how the notification system works on GH so it might take me a while to reply. Again, this was just an idea and I'm not expecting anything from it, but if it seems feasible, something could be organised.

the stab sets come with a cherry profile topre spacebar so itll work on all topre boards

the trouble with your solution is often mx sets you would buy and want to apply to this board wont come with a 6x spacebar, secondly its not as simple as just making an insert, as this will change the height of the spacebar, and it needs to sit perfectly level with both the slider and the stabs

Ahh, right. Thanks. Do you think there's any chance I could modify a 6U space bar from the Carbon set to fit the stabs if I bought a spare Topre spacebar and tried to get the bits that clip into the stabs off?Keep in mind that I have never done any DIY type things. I've never even soldered a switch to a board. It seems like a long shot but I'm determined to get this goddamn spacebar on my board or my OCD will murder me and gouge my eyes out.

its not impossible to do but its a total ballache

the easier fix really is to dremmel out the topre stabs and replace them with mx ones if you wanted to go down that route

obviously we have made the sliders  for use with the jtk keysets, so for full compatibility we will make cherry profile topre spacebars for full compatibility with our sets, obviously people will use them with other sets, but our concern was of course with our compatibility

Thanks for the help Bunny. I'm just going to go ahead and buy the set. We'll see what happens when I receive it. I'll post here if I manage anything.

Is there going to be a black topre compatible spacebar and a purple topre compatible spacebar included with each respective set?

Is JTK considering making other profiles, too, like maybe SPHERICAL? :D
Buying more keycaps,
