MS Natural Pro dishwashing results
« on: Wed, 16 September 2009, 08:22:54 »
So I dishwashed my MS Natural Pro which I got as an add-on to the M2 I bought lately (seller thought the M2 was the add-on) and everything came out just fine. At least until I had this mess of parts back together. When I tried it, it worked but I have to hit the keys dead center or they will block.

I only tried it for literally 3 seconds before. It worked fine then, I guess?

I think the dishwasher may have washed away the lubricant.

Anybody have that keyboard? Do you have to hit the keys in the center?

Maybe it was the lubrication as well. The grease they use might be water-soluble.

This is why I'm so scared of putting any of my keyboard in a dishwasher.

With mechanical switches it is usually not a problem as they do not go into the dishwasher. But while dishwashing results were great in the beginning, problems are piling up lately.

Actually I kinda doubt this is the problem.  The sliders on these cheapo boards are so loose fitting they don't appear to grease the Logitechs at all so even if they warped a bit they should be OK.

Don't think something got warped. The (bad) effect is kind of consistent.

The keyboard is shelved in a distant corner for now.

I never thought about putting keyboards in the dishwasher. Now that I think about it. I'm kind of glad I didn't.
