i just got a pok3r, and realised that i can't live without the directional arrows.  :( found out that i need them too much for work. e.g. excel. good thing is, the shop owner allows me to exchange for another kb. i have narrowed down to these 2.

Ducky Zero DK2087 - approx USD 85
Filco Majestouch 2 TKL - approx USD 135

my requirements are simple. TKL, no backlit. and durable. good build & hope it can last me for at least 5yrs..pretty much an endgame kb. i checked several reviews, both seems ok. can the filco justify a usd 50 difference? another option is...CM QFR. but, it's not available in town. :(

btw, i am getting a new set of pbt keycaps. so, the stock keycaps doesnt matter.

thanks.

I'd order a KUL, that way, you change the dip switch to the mac setting, and all the special mac keys still work.

This is a good idea, but if you are only looking at filco/ducky. I would no doubt get a filco!

I've just never been impressed with ducky feel/quality... but I'm sure there are people who feel that way about filco  :p

P.S. my filco is 4 years old and still a daily driver  ;D

Nothing wrong with either of those.

Although some Filcos have problems with aftermarket keycaps rubbing against the side of the case.

Apart from that they are both standard layout keyboards.  Filco is generally harder to get and, for some, more desirable.  OTOH I have three Duckys and they are all fine.

got myself a mj2 tkl in the end. build is good.and yes, I am worried about the keycaps thing..as I will be changing the keyset.

I was in great delimma yesterday. got Leopold fc750r & fc660c as last minute contenders. I read up that fc750c being the best kb for 2014?? and fc660c is on topre switch..thus standard keycaps doesn't fit well on them..right? lol.

Most sets are ok, but occasionally a set turns up that a few people have problems with.  You can either sand down the side of the case slightly, or the side of the offending keycaps (Shift is the usual culprit).

FC660C is indeed Topre, and there are AFAIK no replacement sets at all, although you might be able to coax a RealForce set to fit, more or less.

thanks rowdy.  :thumb:

actually I stood in the shop for a good 10mins to decide between fc750r & mj2. lol. I like the Leopold detachable cable & pbt keys. but was worried about the space bar setting not being universal..thus making it hard to change the keyset. but the costar stem is good to type on. I used to be on blackwidow for a good 4yrs.

comparing the quality..both kb should be almost similar, right? same pricing though..

I haven't really heard anyone complaining about Leopold quality, mainly just the non-standard space bar stem spacing.

Not sure if that is still the case with the 750R, or whether they have decided to go with the flow.  According to this, looks like Leopold still has a non-standard space bar.

My vote would be Filco.
