Cleaning procedure or related tips?
« on: Mon, 25 May 2015, 06:53:40 »
Hello lads.

I would like to have some resources on how i should maintain my keyboard clean.
I'd rather not rest easy and have to search for it when it's too late.

While using a membane keyboard i would remove the caps and put them into water. For the rest i used to use a thin towel and these-things-for-the-ears-whom-name-i-forget.

As for a mechanical what should i look out for? I value my keycaps and i'm hesitant to do the usual cleaning near my switches.

Please and thank you!

Warm soapy water?  Most grim on the keyboard is oil from your skin combined with dust (also mostly dead skin), so hand soap is perfect! :3

You just have to make sure not to get any water into the keyboard.

I pull the keycaps and clean them in 1 tsp of powdered laundry detergent + 1 tsp of "Oxi-" or "Biz" in a liter of hot water - and rinse thoroughly.

Vacuum out the tray (suck, don't blow) and then alcohol on paper towels and/or Q-tips for the stubborn stuff.

Wipe down everything else with paper towels and alcohol and that should take care of 99% of it.
From the US Constitution, Article 1, Section 8 :

To declare War,  grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;
To provide for calling forth the Militia  to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;
