I've never really noticed this before - there's no Ctrl key on that model keyboard
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

This guy seems to have a lot of cool vintage computing stuff. Well since I'll be going to pick up the IBM boards...

If there's interest for a small GB buy for these, lets make it happen. We have about 6 days to get it going, so I'll make an IC thread for it.

Well, I won't bid this time, so I'll leave it to you guys.

I did send the seller an eBay message asking what other goodies he has waiting in the wings. Xonar, when you pick things up, maybe you can negotiate directly to buy some more items?

At the moment I see M0110s, M0110As, M0116s and AEK IIs. These are all wonderful keyboards in their own right. The ones with Salmon Alps switches, in particular, are real gems. Those are usually 1990 AEK IIs without the [ S ] in the lower right corner of the label.

I've had good luck in the past with contacting eBay sellers directly but every seller is different.

Breaking news from the seller: this is an estate sale from someone whose father ran an electronics antique store. He would love to sell directly but just isn't familiar with the forums. I have some neat photos to share, just give me a moment here...

I would love to pick up Apple Model MO110, simply due to the layout.

Do you guys know what switches it has? Does it come with a plate?

O_O whoa... this is a goldmine here. I'm definitely willing to try to negotiate more sales when I meet up with this guy. We could potentially get some great stuff here, and a lot of it. Hopefully he'll let me have a look through everything he has when I go to pick the boards up.

Xonar when are you planning on heading over? I'm in Texas and not planning to head to Boston any time soon. I used to live there, and if I were still there I would help out.

Karura: M0110 has vintage Alps or Mitsumi linear switches that are plate mounted. I have a few extra switches and key caps here from an M0110A that I declared as a parts donor. We had a long thread about the M0110 over on DT. It's funny that the keyboard was reviled back in 1984 due to its lack of arrow keys and numeric keypad. It has a cult following now.

Planning to get out there next weekend. I'll let you guys know as soon as I leave for MA.

IC check thread is here. Should I have just made a GB thread for it rather than an IC?

I think an IC is appropriate since you don't know exactly what you have yet. Up to you.

I'm around on Sunday dorkvader if you need any extra hands for this expedition. His location is maybe 20 minutes from my house.

Dorkvader came by earlier this morning and helped me go through a lot of the collection. He left with an entire car load of keyboards. It turns out I'd initially miscounted some of the models that I'd posted on eBay, and we found more of some, so many of the original numbers are now incorrect. He has photos of it all and is planning on posting the entire collection later today (I think).

everything has been taken out of my car.

If you bought a KB from him on eBay I have it here with me.

I am organizing with everyone to see how best to deal with this.

Pictures in the first link appear to be about 45 - 50 kbs.
I believe I took home about 78 - 82 KBs today.

I will be posting be in the GB topic from now on https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=72620.0
