For a design like that I wonder if a place would allow you to have a double shot in just one of the colors underneath the whole pad print? For the windows logo like we are discussing here you would double shot it in yellow, and then pad print the colors over that. So then if the pad print starts to wear off, instead of being left with the base keycap color the pattern remains but just fades to yellow to match the "menu" and "fn" legends.
Doing something like that may yield a more interesting worn look to pad prints (as the design would remain legible), that might actually be nice to look at. Though Alignment would be the tricky part, as no one wants a yellow shadow to the windows logo. Think of it like a ghetto quintuple shot.
