The main difference between Costar and Cherry stabilizers are the feeling of the stabilized key as you press down on it. Costar stabilizers are known for having a much more uniform feeling when depressing the key similar to a non-stabilized key whereas Cherry stabilizers feel a bit more mushy and (in my past experiences) require more force to actuate. But Cherry stabilizers require less labor to remove keycaps since they're just stems like the ones on the actual switch. Costar stabilizers require a little more effort since you have to unseat the keycap from its stem, then dislodge it from the wire that the keycap is attached to via clips. Costar stabilizers also (possibly) have keycap limitations because some users have noted having difficulty with using thick keycaps because the walls of the keycap end up grinding against the stabilizing wire.

The KUL ES-87 and the Filco Majestouch 2 are both well-regarded mechanical keyboards today. The Majestouch has became a favorite among the mechanical keyboard community and has set a standard for how manufactured keyboards should be produced (along with Ducky, etc.) but some have started to view it as obsolete and a past-generation keyboard. The KUL ES-87 is one of the new favorite mechanical keyboards in the market today know for having a solid build quality similar to a Filco but also has customization potential due to the detachable cable (the Filco can achieve this through a cable mod), dip switches on the back of the keyboard to change some of the functionality of the keyboard, and the ability to swap out the top plate for a different color. Both keyboards are very nice and I think you would be satisfied with either. I think you should pick your keyboard based on if you want Cherry or Costar stabilizers, want a detachable cable out of the box, if you want dip switches, and if customizing the look of your keyboard outside of keycaps are important to you. Good luck and happy shopping!  :thumb:

I have never used the Filco, but I have heard great things.

I do have a KUL, and as my first mechanical keyboard, I have no regrets. The only thing that I wasn't thrilled with was the ABS keycaps that came with it, they just didn't feel great. I really felt this lack of quality when I bought a custom set from WASD, which are also ABS. I am not sure how others regard the WASD keycaps, but they feel miles better than the stock ones. I didn't really care about the stock caps when I bought the KUL because I knew that I would be changing them out.

I've had the KUL for about four months now and I enjoy it as much today as I did the day I got it. I love the flexibility and build quality of it. If I had to make the purchase again, I would in a heartbeat.

I have a Leopold that is similar to a KUL and my Filco is better, the Cherry stabilizers feel awful on Reds.

thanks dude! i made up my mind to buy a Filco. i think the comfort of typing and gaming is number one. i dont mind having an ugly keyboard as long as the keyboard feel comfortable to me. besides, after i saw a video on youtube how to change the bigger keycap. i think its not too hard. anyway, thanks! :p :thumb:
