problem with Model M LEDs
«

So I just got a Model M. Everything appears to be working fine but the LEDs. They briefly flash when I turn my computer on, but none of them work after that. Anyone have any insight on this? Thanks in advance.

Is it plugged directly into a PS/2 port, or are you using an adapter?

I'm using the PS/2 to USB multimode adapter from techkeys.

I don't know if this is your problem but I can tell you that I have a 1391401 model M and 3 different PS/2 to USB adapters. The LEDs on mine only work when I'm using this adapter:

Thanks--I tried that one as well, but no dice. Both adapters work on my other M, though. I'll see if I can test it on a computer with a PS/2 port and report back.

I think your adapter is probably one of these:

I have one & when using it with my 1391401 I can't enter the BIOS during boot & the LEDs don't work.

Thanks for the info, Tactile. Good to know! The blue cube is now working with my mac. Not sure what the issue was the PC I tested it on earlier....
