Lenovo compact keyboard with trackpoint
« on: Sat, 03 October 2009, 09:57:09 »
I was searching for keyboards with integrated trackpoint, and stumbled upon this
http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:item.detail?GroupID=38&Code=55Y9003¤t-category-id=E6710B8C5A5F44239217E34D281CCDD9

Interestingly, Lenovo says the UltraNav model is no longer available, which has a trackpad in addition to the trackpoint.

Does anyone have any experience with these ?

Excellent, they got rid of the Trackpad on them. I mean, who buys a Trackpoint keyboard to use some crappy trackpad? It was just a waste of space.

Some (maybe all) trackpads can be configured to scroll the page/document on the right and lower sides. I find it pretty useful on my work laptop.

It was mentioned in this thread. I think it's great that you can buy a low-width board with built-in trackpoint for $60. You could recommend this to anyone who likes soft keys.

(BTW, on the Ultranav you can configure the trackpoint to work as the mouse, and the trackpad to do scrolling.)
